Purchased from an old African American family who by legend made the basket and another above, this style is commonly called a market basket, black paint over the splits, some raveling to the outer edges, some traces of old white paint on the handle of the basket, 15" wide by 13" tall to the top of the handle, 20" long, 7" tall to the top of the actual basket before the handle ascends to the center.
