An undated bronze idol depicting the Canaanite god Baal; the head with long pointed hat, large ears and hollow eyes, the narrow neck with pronounced Adam's apple; the long arms held forward at right angles to the body; wearing kilt reaching to mid-calf; the large feet close together; mounted on a round base with lower spike. Acquired on the London art market in the 1980's. Bronze, 335 grams, 25.7 cm (10").
