AN EXCEPTIONAL PAIR OF LOUIS XVI STYLE PAINTED AND PARCEL GILT ELLIPTICAL MIRRORS
20th Century
Each mirror features elegant and elaborate water gilt carving of mating doves with a quiver and torch behind. The crest supports a large floral festoon and and garlands entwined in crenelated ribbons which define the elliptical moulded frame of greige paint and gilt highlights. The frame supports a beveled mirror and acanthus form pendant.
Very good condition. Pendant askew on both.
56 x 37 x 3½ inches (142.2 x 94 x 8.9 cm).
