AN ELEGANT FRENCH PROVINCIAL SLANT FRONT DESK
Late 18th Century
The plank top is supported by a shaped, locking, hinged slant front which opens to reveal a wooden writing surface with original shaped iron hinges as leaf supports. The desk interior features six cubbies, three fitted with leather front drawers. The whole raised on a hand carved shaped apron and delicate cabriole legs terminating with hairy goat hoof feet. Doweled construction throughout.
