A VINTAGE LOUIS XVI STYLE ROSEWOOD AND GILT BRONZE MOUNT DESK
Mid-20th Century
The finely crafted desk with an inset tooled leather top is banded with rosewood and fitted with a glass top framed in gilt bronze moulding. The top is supported by a body with three functioning, locking frieze drawers and three faux drawers, all with ring pulls and reserves of burl olive wood framed with ormolu moulding. The side panels are adorned with large ""Green Man"" ormolu masks and faux drawers. The whole is raised on tapering square section legs featuring strung coin design ormolu mounts.
Very good condition.
