Yigal Ozeri was born in 1958 in Tel Aviv. He studied at the Institute of Plastic Arts in Bat Yam (1977-80). Ozeri was one of the founders of the Meimad Art School in Tel Aviv (1983) where he was also taught. In 1989 he won the Minister of Education Prize for Young Artists. Since 1990 has been living in New York. He exhibited in many shows in Israel and abroad and his works are in prominent intenrnational collections. In 2004 Ozeri had a one man show in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. He has painted the Shrine of the Book (part of the Israel Museum complex of buildings) between 1992-4. He showed these works at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem (1995) along with preparation drawings by Frederick Kiesler the architect of the Shrine of the Book (catalog available).
