Description

A Victorian 18ct gold key wind open face quarter repeating pocket watch signed E. J. Dent, London, the white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers, sunken subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock, outer minute track, the case, hallmarked London 1843, having milled middle, engine turned design with initialled cartouche to rear, fitted with a gilt three quarter plate fusee and chain movement, signed E J Dent, London, with ratchet tooth lever escapement, split bi-metal compensation balance and quarter repeating complication. Case diameter 47mm. Total weight 93gms. Together with a base metal chain and key.

Condition

18ct gold pocket watch, key wind movement is currently functioning, quarter repeating function is currently functioning, couple of tiny marks to the dial, light discolouration of the hands, the glass is lightly scratched, case has medium scratches, some rubbing to the engine turned decoration, rubbing to the engraving to the cartouche.
