146: A 20th Century Silver Keyless Wind Open Face Pocke
A 20th century silver keyless wind open face pocket watch signed James Wadsworth of Manchester, the white dial with black Roman numerals, subsidiary sunken seconds dial positioned to six o'clock, bordered by a minute track, round case with milled band and engine turned decoration to rear, presentation inscription to dust cover, hallmarked Birmingham 1930, fitted with an unsigned fifteen jewel movement with club tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 51mm. Together with a silver key wind open face pocket watch. Case diameter 50mm.
A pocket watch, movement is currently functioning, dial has tiny marks, light discolouration to the subsidiary seconds dial, hands are discoloured, end of minute hand is slightly bent, glass is lightly scratched, may polish out, case has medium scratches, small areas of discolouration, small areas of pitting, small area of score marks at edge of case, probably caused when it was opened, presentation inscription on the dust cover that reads 'IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES I. C. I METALS LIMITED PRESENTED TO A. J. G SMOUT FOR 25 YEARS SERVICE', crown beginning to show signs of rubbing. A pocket watch, movement is not functioning, A/F, dial has discoloured and has tiny marks, would benefit from a clean, a few small cracks, hands are missing, glass is scratched and has a chip at the edge, some of the scratches may polish out, deeper marks may remain, case is noticeably discoloured and has medium scratches, tiny dints and significant signs of rubbing, crude engraving to the inside of case that reads 'R. Collin Houden May 31 1846', bow is slightly misshapen and showing signs of wear. Please note that this lot does not come with box or papers.
