Revolver, Colt Model 1860, serial number 7668 dates this to 1861. Markings: Top of barrel: Address Col. Saml. Colt New York, USA. On the side of the cylinder: Colt's Patent No. 6688, Patent Sept.10th 1850 on the frame Colt's Patent. Serial number on butt strap and cylinder post is 7668, wedge 7812. Initials "LK" carved in butt. Stamped "H' into the brass behind the trigger guard. It is tempting to attribute the use of this pistol to L. K. Harris of the Indiana 36th. An extensive history of "LK" is on-line including an image of him in uniform. Caliber .44 Size: Barrel: 8"; 13.5" o.a. L Weight: 2.65lbs
Condition: Mechanically fine; grey patina, no finish remaining except some blue on ejector. Markings worn, some dings on grip butt. Condition good.
