Flag, Canadian Red Ensign (1921-1957) - maker unknown. Wool with appliqued work, likely post WWII. The Canadian Red Ensign. This design (green leaves in the coat of arms) was used from 1957 until 1965. Provenance: Mariner's Museum, Newport News, VA. Size: 28" hoist x 57" long Weight: 6oz ************************************************************* The Canadian Red Ensign is the former flag of Canada, used by the federal government though it was never adopted as official by the Parliament of Canada. It is a British Red Ensign, featuring the Union Flag in the canton, defaced with the shield of the Coat of Arms of Canada.
