14KT White Gold 6.21ct Tanzanite and Diamond Ring A4161. Excellent Condition! NX3181TM. One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast tanzanite and diamond ring with a bright polish finish. Condition is new, good workmanship. The featured oval tanzanite is set within a bezel of diamonds supported by a lacy under gallery, completed by a diamond set one millimeter wide band. Trademark is PMI. Identified with markings of 14K". Containing: One prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 12.50 x 10.00 x 6.70mm, 10% bulge factor, approximate weight of 6.21ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, moderately strong, bluish violet color, (GIA bV 5/4) to medium light, moderately strong, purple, (GIA P 4/4), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. The stone displays 40% extinction. Colored Stone Grading Report attached. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method.
