A handsome smokey quartz cane with fancy gold overlay. The cylindrical quartz handle is 2 3/4" high and 3/4" in diameter. It is overlaid with classical designs including a ring of acanthus leaves, draping festoons, and a reticulated floral ring. The decoration ends with a mount that has a tiny French hallmark and features eight open bars that show through to the quartz. The shaft is macassar ebony with a 7/8" replaced brass ferrule. The overall length is 36 1/2" and the condition is very good. It is ca 1900 and it is a lovely example of the type. Estimate: $1000-$1500.
