A very nice staghorn cane of an elk. The "L" staghorn handle is 2" high and 5 1/4" to the side. It depicts a nicely detailed male elk with brown glass eyes, a full rack of antlers and a distinctive shaggy mane at his chest. There is a 1 2/3" gold-filled collar decorated with "C" scrolls on an ebony shaft with faux thorns. It finishes with a 1" brass and iron ferrule. The overall length is 38" and the condition is very good. It is probably American, ca 1895, and it is a very good example of a figural staghorn. Estimate: $900-$1300
