A very nice Art Deco cane of silver on lignum vitae. The entire stick is fashioned in triangular configuration with hard angles, in the Art Deco manner. It has a silver handle that is initialed inside an inscribed triangle: "A.H.". It is marked "Sterling" and "Reid" for the American maker. The shaft is lignam vitae with signature dark patches inherent in this exotic wood. (Lignum vitae is a tropical wood that is very dense. It was used for block & tackle on some old sailing ships because it wore down so slowly. It is also seen on some canes.) The piece ends with a 1 1/3" horn ferrule. The overall length is 34 3/4" and the condition is very good. It is ca 1920's and it is a very fine Art Deco example. Estimate: $700-$900
