November 1783-Dated Revolutionary War Era, Magazine titled, “THE UNIVERSAL MAGAZINE” London, England, with Medals to Honor Revolutionary War Heroes, Choice Extremely Fine.
The original British Magazine, measuring 8.4” x 5.25” complete for November of 1783, including pages 224-288, disbound, lacking the wrapper cover page loose, “The Universal Magazine” was usually issued Without a title page. This issue remaining very sharp, with 2 illustrations, crisp pages and printing. The feature to collectors being a printing of an important letter, Signed in Type by Benjamin Franklin, running a printed half-page, in which Dr. Franklin announces the issuing of Medals by the Congress to honor Revolutionary War heroes, including: George Washington, General Gates, General Wayne, Lt. Col. Stewart, Lt. Col. Lee, General Morgan, Lt. Col. de Fleury and Lt. Col. Howard. There is also an important news report on the first Military Medals Issued by the United States.
