18KT White Gold 3.56ct Tanzanite and Diamond Ring FJM1992. Excellent Condition! XT7382PR. One electronically tested 18KT white gold ladies cast Tanzanite & diamond ring with a bright polish finish. Condition is new, good workmanship. The pendant features trillion tanzanite is set within a bezel of diamonds supported by a lacy under gallery with diamond set shoulders, completed by a five millimeter wide band. Trademark is M. Christoff. Identified with markings of “18K”. Containing: One prong set square cushion mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 9.00 x 8.80 x 5.79mm,, approximate weight of 3.56ct., clarity is slightly included, type I, medium light, moderately strong, very slightly greenish blue color, (GIA bV 5/4)to light, moderately strong, violet, (GIA P 3/4), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. The stone displays 40% extinction. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Fifty-six prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 2.00 – 1.80 x 1.14mm (depth est.) approximate total of 56 Stones = 1.38ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity SI-2 to I-2. Color H-J.
