titled "Group in a Window: Western North Carolina," taken circa 1930s, on heavily textured stock, pencil signed in lower right margin of the mat, unframed. Included is Jerry W. Cotten's 1998 biography of Wootten, "Light and Air," in which this photograph is published as Plate 12.

Bayard Wootten, a native of New Bern, NC, pioneered field photography for women. She is best known for her haunting portraits of rural Southerners, black and white.
Light crease and some soiling to the mat.
