Semi-Antique Tabriz Carpet
circa 1920s, wool foundation and pile with central medallion on blue field and allover floral design on a brick field, navy leaf and vine spandrels and floral and vine guard border, very densely knotted.
15 ft. 7 in. x 12 ft. 4 in.
With letter to consignor stating the carpet was owned originally by the late H.H. Topakyan, former Persian Consul-General to the United States.
With wear to pile; with knot loss to one end and stitched to secure, areas of wear to weft.
