The style he developed, with thick bold outlines, had a visual impact on the world contemporary art, design, and advertising. He founded Push Pin Studios to bring a new vitality to graphic design, with an emphasis on hand drawn illustration. His art found its way into posters, packaging, record-sleeves, magazines and children's books. His work has been exhibited in many fine institutions. Chwast and his studio were honored at the Louvre in Paris in a retrospective exhibition.
