China, antique crackle-glazed bowl, base marked with a character guan, possible of guan ware of Song Dynasty. Height 5 1/2 in.; Width 2 1/2 in. Provenance: A private collection from a southern Connecticut estate. The owner’s uncle travelled extensively in China in the 1930’s and purchased much of this estate and had been packed away since the mid 1950’s.
