Strand of 98 graduated natural pearls measuring approximately 2.96-6.14 mm, cream color, some with orient, with platinum and 14K clasp containing old mine and rose-cut diamonds; lg. 21.25 in., 8.4 dwts. Accompanied by GIA report.
Most pearls seen at auction today are cultured pearls. Since the year 1900, natural pearls are extremely rare. This strand is in fine condition and the pearls have been newly restrung. The diamonds in the platinum clasp date the necklace to the late 1800's. These pearls were purchased in 1897 here in Cincinnati and have been passed in the consignor's family ever since.
