US Model 1816 A. Waters Contract Third Type musket converted to percussion. 42 inch round barrel, marked on top "LS" and circled "P". Lock plate shows Waters marking of "US / A. WATERS" in front of the hammer and "MILLBURY / 1833" vertically behind the hammer. Tang also dated 1833. Butt plate marked "US". Inspectors cartouche faintly visible on left side of stock. Hand carved "JH WILSON" also present on left side. Fracture in stock above side plate, otherwise stock is solid. Ramrod is present, and barrel is good, with pitting surrounding the hammer and nipple. Hammer cocks back strong, and appears mechanically sound. Overall good example. Caliber: .61 Serial #: None
