The yellow tape strip below the word “Musical” covers up the word “Smash.” The movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s had been a great success, so the management of Majestic Theatre expected that the show would do similarly well. In reality, the Broadway show was a failure, and was discontinued after its first week.
