A Magnificent Chinese Ming Dynasty Gilt-Bronze Figure of Quanyin on Gilt-Bronze Lotus Stand, 16th/17th Century, cast seated in dhyanasana with the right hand holding a willow stem and left hand holding a cup, dressed in finely cast, loose, flowing robes open at the chest revealing elaborate jewelry, the cuffs and borders of the robes incised with floral scroll, the figure's broad face with downcast eyes, the hair dressed in knotted plaits and with elongated earlobes suspending ornate earrings, the tiered crown incorporating Amitabha Buddha, seated atop a separately cast lotus base raised on a column rising from a socket in the middle of the separate hexagonal base cast with crashing waves within an openwork balustrade with lotus buds at the corners, well preserved and in good condition comparing to her age. 明代铜镏金观音 Overall Height 21" x Width 8" (53cm x 20cm).
A couple of small chips in the back of her hair, a small split at base of her right side clothing, a broke-off at the base fence, some corrosion at the bottom of lotus bowl. please see last photo.
