A LARGE LOUIS XVI STYLE BRONZE DORE CLOCK SET
19th Century
The bronze dore quiver and torch are tied with a crenelated bow and raised on a rectilinear clock body featuring a circular enameled clock face flanked by oval wreath reserves of starbursts. The body is supported by a flaring fluted pedestal. Raised on a footed plinth with guilloche detail. The pair of complimentary seven light candelabra feature arched reeded arms at alternating heights emanating from a fluted trumpet form column and raised on circular bases of the same motif as the clock. On the clock face is hand painted ""Mson. Marquis Languerean, Paris"". The mechanism plate is stamped ""725 and 7 2"" and bears a circular stamp that reads ""Medaille de Bronze, L Marti et Cie"" and includes a small star. Another circular stamp bears ""Languerean, Paris"". Etched into the mechanism plate cover, ""7191 1908"".
Very good condition. Rear circular glass door is cracked.
Clock: 20 x 14 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches (50.8 x 30.5 x 24.13 cm).
Candelabrum: 24 x 14 x 14 inches (60.9 x 35.5 x 35.5 cm).
