A PAIR OF NAPOLEONIC STYLE PORPHYRY OBELISKS AND BRONZE DORE RHINOCEROS BASES

The porphyry obelisks of typical form are supported by gilt bronze orbs and balustrade saddles balanced on the backs of finely cast rhinoceroses. The stalwart animals stride atop rectangular porphyry pedestals encrusted with gilt bronze ormolu of overlapping petals and reticulated garlands and patera. All raised on feet featuring scrolls in relief.
