Three Types of Meteorites

Fossils and RelatedType Set of All Three Types of Meteorites.
There are three different types of meteorites and this lot has an example of each type. A) Stony meteorite, Sayh al Uhaymir 001. A 2.25” x 2” polished and etched section weighing 26 gms. It is dark gray with lighter brown chondriles. This ordinary Chondrite stony meteorite was found March 16, 2000 in Oman. B) Gibeon Iron-Nickel meteorite from Namibia, Africa. This specimen measures 2” x .5” and is wedge shaped, and weighs 57 gms. It is polished and shows its Widmanstatten pattern. C) Brahin Pallasite, measures .75” x .75” and weighs 10 gms. Pallasites, the rarest of the three types are a mixture of iron-nickel and olivine. The olivine in this specimen is yellow from the heat and shock of entry into our atmosphere. All three examples displayed in a 6” x5” Ryker mount.
