This beautiful, intact 6” high Oinoche (jug) was probably used to store some kind of oil, possibly olive or a perfumed oil. On the black glaze, designs were applied in red, white and yellow. The design consists of stylized zigzags and dots. Found in Southern Italy, this ornate jug is complete with only very minor repairs at the base of the handle.
