Medieval Iron Bone-Hilted Hunting Knife
15th-16th Century AD. A hand-forged iron single-edged hunting knife with leaf-shaped blade; the guard a discoid knop to one face and trefoil stop to the blade; the grip narrow with peltoid terminal, remains of the bone grip to each face; German workmanship. Private collection, Cambridgeshire, UK; acquired prior to 2000. 381 grams, 44 cm (17 1/4").
Fine condition; the bone elements partly mineralised.
