396: Civil War Officer's Sword.
Circa 1860s. Marked "Baker & McKenney NY". Fitted with a profusely decorated hilt. Handle is wire wrapped shark skin. All brass surfaces are covered with heavy patina. Hilt decorations include high relief double eagle clutching arrows and branches along with a North American shield over armaments. Blade is elaborately etched with a double eagle on one side and the name "T.S. Wilson USA" on the other. Sword is complete with scabbard.
