Purchased in West Hartford, Ct, in 1969 Oct./Nov. for $4,400.00. Original Owner!!! Stored/garaged for last 34 years. Light Green/Dark Green Vinyl Top. VIN: 2423701106223. Mileage on Odometer reads: 16,621 due to 5 digit odometer at time. Actual mileage is 116,621. The engine was rebuilt by certified race car mechanic/building at 90,000 miles. Everything was done to spec and all numbers match. The actual mileage on the engine is approx. 26,000 miles. VIN Breakdown: 2 - Division (Pontiac) 42 - Series (GTO) 37 - Body Style Color 0 - Year 1 - Assembly Plant = Oshawa 106223 - Serial Number. This affidavit was received by Tim's Inc. Auctions from current owner of the vehicle: Subject: 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge, VIN 2423701106223 authenticity. This letter is to certify that the 1970 GTO Judge you purchased is a one owner vehicle, that owner being me. The vehicle in question was purchased by me at Russell Pontiac, Inc. on New Park Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06110 in the timeframe of Oct/Nov 1969. It was driven by me on a daily basis from its purchase until about 1981. After which it was garaged at my parent’s home in Manchester, CT. It would then be taken out for the occasional drive. The reason I stopped driving it was because a jet in the quadrajet became clogged. This auto has never been in an accident and was never raced. The condition is completely original except for the rear fin. The fiberglass was deteriorating and the paint coming off. I had it completely redone, but had it painted yellow to match the stripes. The original color was the same light green as the vehicle. The vehicle has 116,621 miles on the car, but not the engine. At about 90,000 miles the engine blew, spun the bearings and damaged a few valves. The engine was completely rebuilt to spec by a garage owner and race car builder, Butch ‘Bunky’ Gerich at his facility in Manchester, CT. His son’s now run the business. It took quite awhile to rebuild since this was the 366 horsepower version of the 400 Cu.In. engine and had a special Cam. This part was finally located in California (this was long before the internet). So, the vehicle remained a completely Matching Numbers car. In addition, the vehicle has a specially built starter and work done to make the shifter smoother. Unfortunately, all the documentation for the Judge was destroyed by my ex-wife when we were divorced, including window sticker and Title. Since the car was registered and I kept it registered for many, many years I never reapplied for a new title. If necessary, I will be glad to do that and provide it to you the buyer. In 2006, my mother passed and in Jan 2009 we sold her house. At that point the Judge was trucked to Torrington, CT where it has been stored in my sister-in-laws garage. So to make a long story longer, the Judge has been owned by me for the last 43 years. It’s a little older than my first daughter who will be 43 in December 2012. I hope you enjoy this vehicle as much as I have for all these years.
