An early 20th century 18ct gold opal and diamond ring. The five graduated oval opal cabochons, with vari-cut diamond double spacers, to the scrolling gallery and plain band. Weight 4.1gms.
The lot is in fair to good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The band has been repaired/resized with slight pitting and two thin lines. One of the diamonds is a modern single-cut diamond replacement. The diamonds appear bright and well matched, estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. The opals are well matched with a good play of colour. One of the smaller opals is significantly chipped and all the opals have significant surface abrasion. Makers stamp J. W. K, possibly for JW Kiwan & Co. Ring size O. Stamped 18.
