A 1940s 18ct gold baroque cultured pearl and gem-set fish brooch. The baroque cultured pearl body, to the tri-colour gold fins, the circular-shape ruby-set head with open mouth issuing twin streams of old-cut diamond bubbles. Estimated total diamond weight 0.65ct. French assay marks. Length 5.7cms.
The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The two bar pin has marks for 9ct gold and is on a sprung hinge. Some of the diamonds are chipped. The diamonds appear moderately bright and well matched. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. The cultured pearl shows a good lustre and rattles when gently shaken. Weight 32.7gms.
