A garnet and diamond snake pendant. The oval foil-back garnet cabochon, with glazed panel reverse, to the rose-cut diamond snake, foliate surmount and similarly designed drop. Length 4.4cms.
The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The mount for the garnet is late 19th century with original pin hinge and pendant surmount. The garnet and everything else is significantly more modern. The diamonds appear bright and moderately well matched, estimated total diamond spread weight 0.45ct, though this in no way reflects the actual total diamond weight. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades.
