Vrangel’, kulak, burzhuy [Wrangel, Kulak, Bourgeois], a poster by Viktor Deni (Viktor Denisov, 1892-1946, Meritorious Art Worker of the Soviet Union). Published by GIZ, Moscow, 1920. 69 x 52 cm.
Classic early Deni. The ”unholy trinity” is united under the colors of the old regime. Rather than concentrating just on the military threat, the artist uses archetypal imagery to impress on the (likely illiterate) viewer the idea of a broader plot against the workers’ and peasants’ Republic.
