”Taught to read, conscripts born in 1901 return from the Army; 1902 youth replace the class of 1901 in the defense of peaceful labor.” In 1923, the draft age was 21 years, and service duration was set to one year (with some exceptions). Interestingly, the new conscripts carry a banner that reads ”No Deserters!”
