(Francis, Admiral, died of fever while blockading Havana or Vera Cruz, immortalised by Richard Glover in his poem, "Admiral Hosier's Ghost", bap. 1674, d. 1727) Letter signed requesting equipment, 1p., folio, Deptford, 29th November 1701, "Gent:n There is wanting in her Maties Ships at Deptford for Enabling the Vulcan Fireship tp proceed to Sheerness... Fine Shroud... Hawsers... Sheets Cable laid...", remains of red wax seal, small tear at head; and another requisition, 15 March 1824, seeking supplies for HMS Blossom, signed by "Peter Mc Dougall, Acting Surgeon", and approved by Geo Eyres, Rear Admiral and Commander in Chief, folds, browned, folio (2).
