Aleksandar Pribi Pribicevic (Belgrade, Serbia b. 1989). This original oil on canvas work is titled “Aqua.” Harsh angular lines, contrasting with undulating organic forms in this heavily stylized work, painted in an abstract expressionist style. However, certain forms are identifiable, such as a serpentine form curing in the from the left, and a few forms that resemble eyes. Perhaps an otherworldly creature is being depicted. The painting’s uniquely tumultuous arrangement of forms provides much to examine and contemplate and the range of greens and grays emphasize the dark and almost disconcerting character of the work.
