FEDERAL INLAID CARD TABLE. Mahogany and mahogany veneer. Demilune hinged top with blocked front corners and double tapered legs of the type found on Boston and upper New England examples. Banded inlay on the conforming apron and bellflower inlay and stringing on the legs. Found in Maine and branded on the swing leg "W. Simes". William Simes was a successful silversmith and probable owner of the table. He is mentioned in Portsmouth Furniture by Brock Jobe. Minor veneer split and slight warp to top. 36"w. 17 1/2"d. 30 1/2"h.
