Late 19th or early 20th Century,
The sides of the lidded box formed with staves held in place with metal bands; painted black inside and out, with images in gold, red, and silver on the lid and sides; the lid with a hummingbird flying over a pond, the front and back each with a cartouche containing a scene of elegant Chinese women outdoors near a structure; the sides with a fan and castanets, two attributes of the Eight Immortals; with two brass handles.
