Great 30" h. x 25" w. oil on canvas folk art painting of well dressed boy with a hammer and a horse pull toy, sitting in a landscape background, ca. 1835 - 1850. Found in Virginia. Family provenance suggests the boy is Thomas Nathaniel (Bart) Garland. Three surface scratches near head, otherwise in a fine dry untouched original surface. Impressive folk art painting fresh to the market.
