This period Philadelphia Chippendale side chair is in mahogany with a floral design carved crest, open carved splat and cabriole legs with shell carved knees ending in ball and claw feet. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ca. 1760 - 1780. Appears to retain some of the original finish with a great rich color. Appears to retain it's original seat frame. Label stating "This chair was made by Louis Johnston of near Brunswick about 1790. Property J. A. Johnston III". A fine Period Philadelphia chair in fine condition. 38" h. 21" w. 20" d. Height from floor to seat 18".
