(American 1825 - 1900) Cincinnati & Waynesville, OH, portrait painting of man, 30" x 25" oil on canvas. Signed middle right above shoulder. The son of tavern keeper and surveyor Enoch Hammell, A. H. became a fine portrait painter working in Cincinnati and Waynesville, Ohio. His many awards include The Cincinnati Fireman's Fair 1845, Western Union of Art Show 1847 & 1848, Ohio Mechanic's Institution 1858, Cincinnati Artists Association 1871, 1872 & 1873. He is listed in Who Was Who in American Art and Artists in Ohio. A fine portrait painting in original frame. Relined. Fine condition.
