Description

BLOWN-MOLDED BIGLER HAND LAMP, translucent starch blue with a sanded surface, conical font with a flared base and applied handle, brass fine line collar. Probably Mt. Washington Glass Works. 1845-1860. 4" H, 3 1/2" D base.
Literature: See Elsholz, lot 1464 for an alabaster/clambroth example. See Elsholz, lot 1699 for a Bigler vase in the same color as this lamp.
Provenance: From a New England collection.
Catalogue Note: An extremely rare lamp that is not illustrated in any of the standard references.
