Attributed to Ishikawa Rensai, 2nd, Tokyo - Asakusa, Mid 19th century. With mokugyo on cushion The stitches around the cushion neatly shown above and below, the underside is unadorned except for a hossu, the tail of which provides the himotoshi. Signed on the underside without reserve, Rensai. 1 3/8in (3.6cm). Provenance: Purchased at Parke-Bernet, New York, February 7, 1951.
