Marc Chagall - Biblical Heliograviures

Prisoner of the Philistines, who have put out
his eyes, Samson, whose strength has returned
as his hair has grown in, pulls down the pillars
of the house in which many of his enemies
had gathered to amuse themselves at his
expense. He will die with them in the collapse
of the roof. (JUDGES 16: 28-30).
Hannah prays to the Lord to give her a son.
This son will be Samuel. (FIRST SAMUEL I :
9-11).
