This carousel pig is not easily identified as to a specific carver. It has a nice folk art look and is a European carving, most likely French. The French liked pigs and carved many more then others. It is a small, 37” long, inside row animal made for a portable carousel. The pig has several cracks mostly around the leg joints and chipped paint but is in fair to good condition, other then it looks like the “iron” tail is missing. The carousel pig has a finish of “Park Paint” from the 1960-70s. This is an excellent example of European antique carousel art.
