An unusual late 18th/early 19th Century French carved ivory tobacco rasp front, the bowed front of tapered form carved with Venus and Cupid in a landscape flanked by scrolled leafage and shell motifs, the reverse with oval lidded compartment carved with a basket of fruit, 8.375ins x 2.5ins (lacking steel rasp to reverse)
