Commemorative Paper Flag Announcing the Fall of Richmond!

1865 Flag, “Richmond HAS FALLEN,” Choice Extremely Fine.
This small color paper flag, 2.25” x 4.5”, is printed on one side, with blue letters, “Richmond Has Fallen”, emblazoned over the red and white stripes of the flag. Issued after the capital of the Confederacy surrendered to U.S. Grant’s Army in April of 1865. This uniface flag appears to have been cut out from a larger sheet (the top contains an extra “half stripe” at a rising angle).
