Custom Made STS-1 Flight Helmet

Custom Made Flight Helmet Made by Protection, Inc of Pomona, Ca., this helmet was made to NASA specifications for use by Terry Slezak, a back-up photographer during the Orbiter Test Flight (OFT) tests of the Space Shuttle. This sky blue helmet has double clear and sun visors, built in earphones, chin strap, original detachable oxygen mask as well as a skull cap and flight gloves. The outer visor looks like the night sky and has Terry Slezak's name in gray. His name is also on the accompanying padded khaki carry bag. Pristine condition. These helmets were made only for chase team members for use during the OFT tests and are extremely rare. A "Williamson" certificate of authenticity is included.
